Introduced in 1993, Angel, avant-garde designer Thierry Mugler's first fragrance for women, conjures up images of fairgrounds, cotton candy, and childhood experiences. In creating Angel, perfumers Olivier Cresp and Yves de Chirin founded a new fragrance family, the oriental-gourmand. It took 18 months to create this delightfully complicated fragrance, who's nature explores essences of chocolate, elixer of fruit, and caramel. Angels are a recurring theme of Mugler's style. Says Mugler, "Angels bring about dreams and the imaginary; they are a mystery; powerful, yet soft". He perceives this same duality in women. Angel's heavy blue crystal bottle, shaped like a star with sculpted facets that reflect light, is a concept of Mugler's brought to life by famed glassmaker Brosse.
